Project: Creating a Garden for the Residents of Moorburn Manor Residential Home in Largs.
An entire garden including planted beds, new turf, contoured edging and a small woodland area all built around a central timber decking feature. This was created from an existing tarmac car park at the rear of the property.
Before the project is underway, the tarmac is marked out and the area to be landscaped is dug out and removed ready to start work
Symmetrical beds are created either side of the deck and various plants are were carefully chosen and arranged to take full advantage of the beds. Besides looking great these plants are also chosen for thier fragrance so plants such as lavander provide a pleasant aroma.
The decking was built as a seating area for the residents and provides a full view of the garden. the deck was given handrails on 3 sides leaving the front openfor easy wheelchair access. The decking was designed to be a center piece where the resident can come for some peace and quiet in the pleasant surroundings.
This area was creaed for its pleasant peaceful viewing. Previously this was an unused area but wit the right trees and shrubs and finished with a bark mulch ground cover, it really completes teh garden.
The last stage of the project was the restoration of an old existing patio. With some minor repairs and a jetwash it was made usable again.
